...and we won't have Benny anymore...

Cat pee. I see cat pee. Cat pee on the floor. If there is cat pee, if there is cat pee, then we won't have Benny anymore. (To the tune of our "famous" Crayons Song.)

Becka, Neleh, Bill and I "camped out" in the backyard last night. We had a little "campfire" in a grill, made smores, slept in a tent, etc. Bill ended up sleeping outside of the tent to "protect us from bears" since he didn't think there would be room for all of us in the tent. I think there would have been, but he slept outside anyway and no bears got us. :-) When he got up to do the paper route this morning, the rest of us woke up too. I went inside to go potty and when I came out, Benny seemed to want out into the yard. So I let him into the yard and encouraged him to come into the tent with us. He did come in a bit. Well, I'm not sure how much he came in and out. This one thing I know, at some point in time during the night he peed in the TENT! I woke up at thought, "Hmm. Smells like cat pee in here." Well, there was a reason for that smell. A puddle at the end of the tent (luckily where no one was sleeping). I threw the old sheet I had with me on top of the puddle to sop up the mess. Left it there and went back to sleep.

That was the last straw. Benny has gone to find a new home. So if any of you out there are looking for a friendly fluffy orange cat named Benny to adopt, I know where you can find him. Already fixed and declawed! Act now! We would have rather have given him to someone we know, but who wants a cat who pees on the floor?!?! Only an unsuspecting party would be able to take him in. Hopefully some time in solitary confinement will help him change his ways. Maybe he just hated us.

My family suggested that there may have been something "medically" wrong with him to make him do that. I doubt it. He didn't seem to have that problem when he was stuck on the porch all by himself. It seemed that he did it out of spite. Hopefully his new family will not have that problem and if they do, they will be more dedicated to getting him to stop. We added the extra litter box like the vet said. I moved the food and water like the internet said. He just likes to pee on and near stuff that belongs to the little people. Well, good-bye Benny. We'll miss you...well...not really. Bill took him away without telling the kids. I approached it with them as "What should we do with Benny?" Neleh said we should send him to Mexico. I think everyone knew it was coming. We just kept hoping there was another way. You can only take so much though, you know?

Miss Albee has been able to Outwit, Outplay and Outlast all of our other pets. We've had her for more than 3 years and she is not in jeopardy of losing her position. She became much more friendly as soon as we kicked Benny onto the porch. She's got hairballs and is ready for a vet checkup, but we're keepin' her...for now...

Benny looks nice and innocent as a sweet kitten with blue eyes.

Here's Benny more recently. (Miss Albee peeking around the door behind him)

The good cat ... not a great picture - We've been taking pictures of ducks lately. Not cats.

So many blogs, so little time

Yup. There sure are a lot of blogs out there. I have run into some very useful/helpful blogs!! That's always nice. Then there are blogs like this one. Completely pointless. I have a few of my own now and have lost track of which is which. Ah, yes. This is the one where I just type whatever the heck is on my mind...which isn't much on this blog. Well, there's my one lonely thought for the day. See the Longworth Duck (pondpal) blog of mine. It is actually interesting.

Laughing at my sister's blog

Ha ha! I have spent the last few minutes reading my sister's blog. She makes me laugh. She and her stories about her cats are quite entertaining, it's true. Just made me realize that I'd not posted since my search for Legends game buddies!! We ended up taking our neighbors. It was a lot of fun. We went again last Sunday with Mom, Jill's friend Courtney, Cindy Gatsos & her kids. Chris was there too and stopped by our seats to say HI. We've got 7 more bookmarks left = 14 possible free tickets. The Lindemuths say they are available next Thursday for the game. That leaves only 2 bookmarks left = 4 tickets. Hmm.
Mom wants to go again on July 3. Anyone else interested?

Gee, this blog is so lame. My others are much more interesting. Leave this one. Go read another one. (Although they are not yet up to date.)

I wasn't finished yet!!!!

Ack! That last post published itself before I was ready!!

Poor little Benny. Our fluffy orange cat has had "potty problems." For quite a while he had been peeing in places that he should, e.g. toy box. Somehow, we were tolerating that (not sure why) by cleaning it up and hoping he'd quit. Um...that strategy didn't work. Well, last week he decided that it would be fun to poop outside of the litter box. OK, that's it. We can't tolerate that...at all. Benny now has a new home...the back porch and backyard. We've got lots of water for him and the fan going. He seems to be adjusting, but still not thrilled about it. We let him run around the yard. He doesn't seem to have any motivation to leave. We had the ducks out and about this morning, and Benny was out, too. He started creeping toward one of the babies and the big ducks started chasing Benny!! That was kinda funny. :-) He backed off. I'd wondered how he would get along with the ducks. Not sure I'd want to leave them all out by themselves unsupervised. That could get messy. The ducks have not ever wandered all the way to the back fence to visit the German Shepherds behind us. Again, that could get messy if a baby duck snuck through that fence! Benny mostly just hangs around the porch and rests in the shade and in the plants. At the moment, I think he's in the window well, keeping cool. That's his favorite hiding spot out here. He is using the litter box now, though. Actually, I think he did his business in the flowerbed this morning. At least its not in the floor! OK- now I'm done.

It's hot

Yup. It's hot. It's June 1 and supposed to get to 90 degrees today. Yikes. It's hot and dry. It rained a little bit when we were at the Legends game on Monday, but that didn't last very long and I'm sure it didn't amount to much. We sit at the top of our section so we didn't get wet. :) That was our fifth Legends game so far this year. We've got enough vouchers to go to every game this month if we wanted to! I don't particularly want to go to that many, but we could.
